The current government (Social Democrats) along with Socialist’s People’s Party, Social Liberals, Liberals and the Conservative’s all recommend Danes vote to abolish Denmark’s opt-out for the CSDP.
Should the Danes agree, it would leave Denmark with [remaining opt-outs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_opt-outs_from_the_European_Union) on citizenship, police and justice, and the adoption of the euro.
During the press briefing the government also stresses the need for Denmark to become independent of Russian gas both nationally and EU wide.
It s almost funny to watch from the south and east as northern europeans are
suddenly running like chickens

This won’t pass. They tried to get an opt out more like the uks (flexible) no were told no.
It’s honestly sad that we (as in most EU states) literally need a massive Russian invasion to wake us up when it comes to common sense defense policy… Ukrainian blood is being spilled for our benefit…
Never let a good crisis go to waste as they say.
I’m personally gonna vote NO, we can still provide military equipment and soldiers without giving up our right to not provide anything. EU opt-outs are rare and valuable.
from what I understand we don’t actually lose any sovereignty by participating more in EU defense, rather we get a seat at the table and a chance to exercise it. Everything is still voluntary. So would vote yes if I didn’t live abroad
1 billion euros is less than half of what is expected. the assumption was going up to 2%, this wont get it there.
