Pope Francis says Ukraine conflict is not a ‘military operation but a war’

  1. What’s the difference? Usually when the good guys do it its a military operation, when the bad guys do it it’s a war. Who the good and bad guys are depend entirely on the media dominating your country.

  2. Well, now at least he can say it without a shadow of doubt. Now that literally the entire world is aware of this conflict, the Church wakes up and goes “uhh guys, is this a war??!?!?”

I’d rather they shut the fuck up and started praying instead, since they’re so good at it. Too bad it won’t unmurder all those innocent Ukrainians.

  3. People are complaining but him saying that out loud actually does more than you’d expect.
    Pope’s influence is clearly underrated.

  4. I think this is an acknowledge of the war and not a conclusion. For people who are Christian and have doubts about the war, they may reconsider the “special operation” and help or support more Ukraine.

  5. The Church as a whole has been insanely quiet during this war, anyone else noticed that?

    ^^^^^^^I’m ^^^^^^^not ^^^^^^^saying ^^^^^^^they ^^^^^^^like ^^^^^^^the ^^^^^^^war, ^^^^^^^I’m ^^^^^^^just ^^^^^^^saying ^^^^^^^they’re ^^^^^^^useless.

  6. God! Please help this country and the people. Can’t watch the news. Heart broken. Putin must appear in the war criminal court first and go to hell later
