“Danish PM Mette frederiksen, the way we see it Denmark belongs in the heart of European security politics”
The vote is set to june the 1.
Hope that the referendum will pass. And is good that most important parties support it, from what I could understand.
Given Denmark’s key location (they could effectively block access to the Baltic Sea) it would be great if this passed.
ELI5?
That particular opt-out never made any sense to me. About time if you ask me. The others I can at least understand the reasoning behind, even if I don’t agree with all of them.
They did ask for the opt out to be more like the uk’s, where they could opt in to specific things, but the eu said no.

I don’t think this will pass.

Denmark, Megafon poll:
“Should Denmark cancel its opt-out from the European Union’s defence cooperation?”
Yes: 64%
No: 36%
Fieldwork: 3-4 March 2022
Sample size: 1,092
Current poll has 49% agreeing or partly agreeing, 27% disagreeing [1](https://nyheder.tv2.dk/politik/2022-03-06-danskerne-skal-stemme-om-forsvarsforbeholdet-1-juni). I have a hard time not seeing it pass, unless something changes drastically in the current political climate.
The worst part about being in NATO is having to be under American leadership. They don’t mind “friendly fire”. Seriously.
Denmark superpower by 2050 confirmed
Is it a mistranslation or does it actually say that 49% support a European army?
