‘More than a hero’: Lebanese man returns home after 33 years in Syrian prison • FRANCE 24

After 33 years languishing in Syrian jails, including the infamous Sednaya dubbed “the human slaughterhouse”, Suheil Hamawi, a 61-year-old from Lebanon, finally returned home on December 9. He was one of thousands of prisoners freed from Syria’s notorious prison system after Islamist-led rebels seized control of the country. In an emotional homecoming, Suheil’s twin brother hailed him as “more than a hero”.

  1. The slaugther house in Syria is what I called Genocide. The Assad Regime is allied to Hezbollah and HAMAS

  2. To all in Syria you see that good always wins it feels great to be free doesn’t it. So resist the evil and become a free democracy the USA will be here for you as long as you don’t go back to the evil ways .

  3. Assad was an enemy to everyone except those who sided with him. Be it Christians, Sunnis or Shia. Even Iran calls him a traitor.

  4. Its really doubtful these men spent thirty forty years in prison.especially such brutal prisons.they look quite healthy and well fed.most probably thwy were there forba short period.long term prison inmates would 2:14 look dreadful.
