He makes it up as he goes along. It’s a sign of his arrogance and entitlement that he genuinely thinks you can lead a country without knowing a fucking thing about the state of said country.
Unfortunately he get away with his lies while a crisis happens
Never forget: the Tories changed the definition of “employed”.
I doubt he or many of his supporters would be all that bothered if he quoted the figure accurately. It would give them more people to hate and I expect they would secretly love that. They are determined to see the unemployed as failures, not as people living in a failed system.
Eh, this one is borderline. He was referring to those employed by others, not counting the self-employed. It is not uncommon to make the distinction, as can even be seen on this legal website: [https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-guides/self-employment/am-i-employed-self-employed-both-or-neither](https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-guides/self-employment/am-i-employed-self-employed-both-or-neither)
Might be blasphemy to be nuanced on this sub though, rather than blinding attacking anything said by those established as enemies in this echo chamber. And nah, I never voted Tory – got to say that, since it’ll be the natural accusation/attempt at opinion dismissal of too many on this sub.
Boris? Misleading? No, you must have the wrong Boris.

The numbers are basically meaningless.
