The family of disabled veteran Carl Westcott has appealed to Prince Harry regarding Katy Perry’s upcoming performance at the 2025 Invictus Games.
In a letter obtained by Daily Mail, Chart Westcott, son of the bedridden U.S. Army veteran, urged Prince Harry to reconsider Perry’s selection as headliner for the Vancouver Whistler event.
“Our father, who served honorably in the 101st Airborne Division, was one of the soldiers deployed by President Eisenhower to uphold civil rights during the Little Rock Nine crisis,” Chart wrote to the British royal.
The conflict centers on a property dispute between Perry and Carl Westcott who suffers from Huntington’s disease.
Perry recently gained control of the estate and is countersuing for $6 million in damages.
Perry is expected to headline alongside Noah Kahan, Nelly Furtado, and Jelly Roll.
The property dispute has reportedly taken a significant toll on the Westcott family.
“It’s been a constant source of stress… It was the house [Carl] wanted to die in,” Chart explained.
Perry and her fiance Orlando Bloom are neighbors to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Montecito, California.
