  1. … and about time too. Hardly the first time a child has died or suffered serious abuse after being withdrawn from school to avoid them being seen by other adults.

  2. As much as the Sara Sharif situation is a tragedy, this reaction sounds authoritarian.
    Why not increase the severity of the punishment for child abuse (all degrees of it)?

  3. It’s super weird that this is even allowed. I mean, unless your child is so disabled that it’s impractical, why isn’t home schooling considered child abuse? 

  4. The solution to this problem isn’t the need to not home school.

    Neighbours reported her screams more than once.

    This is a failure of social services and the police.

    Home schooling isn’t the problem.

  5. Ah so the failure of police and social services means home school is the problem.

    Got to love the logic.

    At anytime when home schooling you can be visited, inspected and they can demand school attendance already.

    But no no let’s not hold those that actually messed up to account.
