“A Father’s Heartbreaking Story: Fleeing War, Losing Everything, and Watching My Son Suffer After Losing His Leg”
My name is Fadi, a father of three beautiful children: Majd, Karim, and little Mohammed. We are residents of northern Gaza, where we’ve experienced unimaginable suffering due to this devastating war. Our lives have been torn apart, forcing us to flee from place to place in search of safety.
Our journey of pain began when we first left our home and moved to Al-Nuseirat in central Gaza. But safety was short-lived, and we fled again to Deir Al-Balah, and then to Rafah. In Rafah, the unimaginable happened—an airstrike hit a house near us. My son Karim was severely injured, and his leg had to be amputated without anesthesia due to the dire conditions. Watching my child endure such unimaginable pain was the most helpless moment of my life.
Even after fleeing Rafah and returning to Al-Nuseirat, Karim continues to suffer greatly. His pain is constant, and he urgently needs proper medical care and rehabilitation to have a chance at living a normal life again. As a father, it breaks me to see him like this, knowing I am powerless in the face of our harsh reality.
We have lost everything: our beautiful home, my job, and any sense of stability. Our entire life has been destroyed, and now even my son’s future feels uncertain. I am left with nothing but the will to fight for my children’s survival and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
This war has robbed us of everything—but it will not rob me of my hope for my son Karim. He deserves a chance to smile again, to heal, and to live a life free from pain.https://gofund.me/aa3eda56
