  1. The domestic political crisis in South Korea has given the Japanese cause for concern about the future of relations between Tokyo and Seoul. Several social surveys have been conducted in Japan in recent days, with the majority of respondents expressing fear that bilateral ties will again be unfavorable.

The main reason for possible concerns is a change of president in South Korea if the Constitutional Court approves Yoon’s impeachment. After all, one or another opposition politician may win the election for the country’s leader.

The problem is that such figures are most often adherents of anti-Japanese views . For example, they vehemently criticized Yun for bringing South Korea and Japan closer together. Therefore, if the opposition wins the so far only hypothetical elections, it is clearly not worth expecting a pragmatic course towards Tokyo.

  2. Korea is way too xenophobic for it’s own good.

r/Korea will perma-ban you if you say anything they don’t like at all.
