  5. That woman wasn’t detained but she was fined. That being said, there are huge signs that prohibit knives in front of Christmas markets. Maybe don’t bring one if you aren’t allowed.

  10. I understand that due to their Russian heritage, this whole thing that rules are supposed to apply to everyone is foreign to eastern Europeans. It’s not your fault Visegrad!

    Now. Assume you don’t want a bunch of 20 year olds running around with knives on Christmas markets (it’s not that long ago someone was stabbed to death on a similar event in Münster. It wasn’t a Christmas market, but a similar thing). Assume you want to be able to search peoples bags. Well, then you make a rule that knives are banned and that everyone can have their bag searched.

    Pro tip. Don’t come with a knife then.

  11. Yeah ok a stupid law but now imagine that Swiss Army knife is in the pocket of a 28 year old Turkish immigrant. He carries it to cut cheese, open corks, cut loose threads from his clothes and such, nothing crazy. But I hardly see anyone caring if he gets fined for that.

    Why is old white woman any different?

  12. I will not make fun of this, in Spain as the laws are made they can do the same.

    Knives longer than 11cm on the street are always ilegal. Shorter ones are up to the police to decide, which means if you are in the woods you are 99% fine but anywhere else they can fuck you if they want even for a 3cm keychain knife.
