Such a ramshackle fleet can’t handle the master’s lash, driving it to break against the seas. The Russians are just dumping more oil into the straight, contaminating the region with their filth. More death of life from Russia for its blood oil.

Gosh russia is falling apart
Two ships in one storm sinking is ok considering the age and maintenance level of the fleet. But now a third one? Not that I’m much of a sea dog but these waves look manageable for a coaster.
30-40 knot winds out of the west southwest in that area, blowing the oil on to Russia’s own beaches.. I’ve already seen some videos taken by the Russians.. They’ve got themselves a mess..
I hope all oil and fuel oil clings to their beaches, before the winds change.
Mixed feelings on this, not a fan oil tankers sinking/leaking no matter what flag they fly. Fucks up the environment too much.
They put barriers underwater at the Kerch bridge, so they can no longer sail the bigger ships into the Azov sea to transfer cargo loads, so now the littoral ships have to sail into the Black Sea to do it. But those ships aren’t made for the open seas, and this is the predictable outcome.
One is an accident, two is coincidence, three is what?
It seems to me that Russia has misunderstood the Black Sea…

They have blocked the Kerch Straight to large vessels, so their rusting river boats have to venture into the more unforgiving Black Sea for ship to ship transfer. I suspect that the process of filling in open sea could also lead to structural issues.
I guess they are finding out which ones are seaworthy this way. I wonder if they break up before or after the transfer.

I read that these ships were designed for riverine use, not for use on the open seas. Something about the ships being cut, (& either lengthened or shortened) and then the two pieces welded back together.
Probably Russian welders were skimming supplies for sale on the black market–“***Hey, don’t judge: it’s the Russian Way!!”***
And here I am drinking coke with my paper straw to save the world.
