5. I went to a terrible zoo once. They only had one animal — a little dog. It was a shi’zhu.

6. It’s a shame because the zoo changed ownership a few years ago (in 2017 I believe) and the new owners were making significant changes

   Someone got fired more recently and sent the BBC and other outlets a bunch of photos from the time the zoo was under the previous ownership, and they ran a bunch of articles that fell into that “technically true but not reflective of the current reality” category of bullshit news. But since they included a quick “this was in 2015 before ownership changed”, they weren’t technically wrong

   I believe of the reported incidents only one or two were under the new owners early in their tenure and related to bad fencing and practices left by the previous owner that hadn’t been sorted yet

   When I’d been earlier this year it was a lot better. Not the absolute best, but you could see the constant improvement being made

7. When I last went the tigers were underweight it was horrible. And the parrots were telling everyone to fek off 😅
