  1. He is pretty devoid of likeability. He seems to go out of his way to give precise personal takes on things, which invite counter argument and conflict. Rather than the vague assurances and boosterism of PMs past.

Which all goes to say that he is the kind of conviction politician people said they wanted, but the same people don’t like it when he doesn’t share their convictions.

If he can last long enough to deliver on anything he still has a chance to turn this around.

  2. Has he had time to do anything of consequence yet? Starmer hasn’t been on the job for even half a year, after over a decade of Tory incompetence. It’s not surprise Labour would have a rough start

  3. This is an article from one of the UK’s worst tabloid newspapers, probably has the worst quality journalism out of any UK newspaper. This article has also been shared by a Scottish nationalist and has been posted on many subs. I’m sure OP has no agenda by posting this…

  4. Just to clarify, this is checking the Prime Ministers’ popularity after 5 months. Liz Truss didn’t make it that far.

Not that I love Starmer. But surely Truss has to be ‘the worst Prime Minister in modern history’.

  5. Absolute BS – Liz Truss?

Whilst I’m not wildly impressed so far, I’d still definitely vote for him over the Conservatives and rank his leadership higher than any of the last few PM’s. Unfortunately that’s not saying much.

  6. The Daily Star is not a series paper, unless you think stories about a couple who believed their child had been abducted by aliens and turned into a fish fish finger is serious.

  7. The torries have messed the countries for nearly 15 years.

Now Starmer is tryin to redress the government and his country finances and it’s not gonna be easy for anybody. Hence people are unhappy and Starmer will never be able to implement left-wing policies before a long time. He’s simply cleaning up the mess left by the crazies that came before him.

Maybe he is too honest about this. People would rather have a clown that promises them the moon.

  8. Bring back the lettuce!

Now, people thinking that after Lizzy and Sunak makes it even worse. The solution to neoliberalism isn’t more neoliberalism. I thought by this point people would’ve learned that austerity policies, when implemented badly, are a breeding ground for the nasty stuff. If the center and the left don’t give people answers they inevitably turn to the right.

  9. Apparently all this proves is that the UK public has collectively forgotten Liz Truss, is too young to remember Thatcher or this is just a poll of Reform voters by a bunch of right wing think tanks.

  10. It feels like a psyop how often I’m seeing this when the evidence put before me says he’s really not that bad.

Feels like we’re being buttered up for Nigel Farages, Elon musk $100 million backed reform, to take the reigns.

  11. I’m sorry? He’s been in 6 months and hasn’t had an opportunity to do much

I’m now immedeately going to counteract myself though, and say that liz truss was far worse, almost crippling the economy in the 2 months she was in office

  12. >A huge 6 in 10 say they are dissatisfied with his record

Oh fuck off with this ridiculous editorialising. That’s like saying “His wife reported disappointment with his tiny 13-inch dick”. And using the Star as your source?? That’s not a newspaper, that’s a comic book.

  13. This is from The Daily Star, which is a classic right-wing tabloid “newspaper” that actively tries to portray the current (or any left-wing) government as a total failure, even though Labour have only been in power 5 months. It’s the same sort of media outlet that will shout about how woke, lefty trans immigrants are coming to steal all your jobs.

Reading this poll is a waste of time, as is paying attention to the Daily Star or any of its ridiculous claims.

  14. Right wing media uses bogus poll deliberately excluding worst PM in history, Liz Truss, so that they can call the first Labour PM in over a decade “the worst”

    Typical.

  15. Is he a terrible Prime Minister? Yes he is.

Is he the worst Prime Minister in modern history? Not by a long fucking way.

Liz Truss, Boris Johnson, David Cameron …

  16. I mean this is the point at which I truly begin to become a conspiracist. The last few UK PMs have been liars, charlatans and frauds, albeit that they spoke in a sufficiently posh ways. It has been less than 6 months, and nothing significant has embarrassed the UK in that time… but somehow the public are convinced he is the worst in modern history? Please.

  17. This is a particularly shit British newspaper, The Daily Star.

Starmer has been in about half a year. He’s not particularly likeable, but good god if reds in the UK don’t doggedly simp for Tories who were fucking garbage since their arrival under Cameron

  18. I don’t like Starmer. Never have but to say he’s the worst PM in modern history after 6 months in power is absurd. Cameron was a complete disaster first with his ideological austerity and then with Brexit. May went for the worst possible option with her red lines. Johnson mismanaged the pandemic. Truss lasted weeks and Sunak hadn’t a clue.

    People have really short memories.

  19. He is probably the worst PM at five months for a long, long time. His premiership has so far been dominated by the “Two-Tier Kier” soundbite, caning people for tax and idiocy like the Chagos giveaway.
He and his party were voted in to be a safe pair of hands after the Conservatives had become more and more useless and incompetent (mostly thanks to Boris Johnson) but they are no perceived as such.

He’s not the absolute worst modern PM, that has to go to Truss, but nobody has managed to be so unpopular at this point probably since the hung parliaments of the Seventies.

He could turn it around, after all his predecessors all managed to become pretty unpopular by the 12 month mark so maybe Sir Kier will discover his inner statesman. I doubt it though.

Which means that we will have a very unpopular administration with a very large majority and that is just going to magnify people’s disillusionment. Particularly as it seems that Labour is going to continue the 20-year run of governments doing fuck-all about immigration despite it being the major issue for a majority of voters.

  20. I wonder why they haven’t mentioned Lis Truss, who didn’t even last 2 months, let alone five, and who doubled everyone’s mortgage and crashed the economy after two and a half weeks.

She ended up with an approval rating of -47%, far worse than Starmer’s.

    Bloody Tory rag!

  21. Every UK Prime Minister is the worst Prime Minister when they’re in office. This is just slop. That being said he is a most bland, spineless PM I have ever seen. He stands for nothing and will do anything for popularity.

  22. When I heard that he had a ‘human rights’ background, I didn’t realise it was ‘suppressing human rights` in Northern Ireland. And now he’s arming Israel and can’t see a genocide.

Prime Minister Kid Starver indeed. Blue Labour and the Uniparty State.
