> Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said today that Kosovo’s accession to NATO would pose a threat to Serbia in an armed conflict “and nothing else”.
Literally the same words Putin uses in Ukraine
Yes, like today, there isn’t one the biggest NATO bases in Europe.
You’re goddamm right
They really badly want to be Russia don’t they
Serbia borders 8 countries: Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Out of those 8 countries, 6 are NATO members – all of them except Kosovo and B&H. Serbia is basically surrounded by NATO countries. If 6/8 are not a “threat to Serbia”, there is no way 7/8 suddenly would be a threat. It’s cheap nationalist theatrics, nothing more.
Why? Do they want to attack Kosovo?
Do these these guys not understand how NATO works? NATO cannot pose a threat, because it’s a defensive agreement. Even if Kosovo would attack Serbia while in NATO, they couldn’t invoke article 5 because it would be an offensive war. Article 5 is can only be invoked if the country in question is attacked. The only reason Serbia (and Russia) feel threatened by NATO is because they know they would be the aggressor and they would lose.
