The biggest gainers of the session on the were ASML Holding NV (AS:), which rose 2.24% or 15.40 points to trade at 703.40 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:) added 2.11% or 11.40 points to end at 551.60 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:) was up 2.01% or 0.49 points to 24.90 in late trade.

Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which lost 2.96% or 0.70 points to trade at 22.91 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:) declined 2.81% or 0.69 points to end at 23.83 and Aegon Ltd (AS:) shed 2.26% or 0.13 points to 5.62.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 35 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.08% or 1.47 to $69.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.42% or 1.05 to hit $72.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.76 to trade at $2,656.24 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.47.
