Jac Davies, 25, was given a sentence of 12 months, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to possession of indecent images of children and possession of Class A drugs.

A man who was provided with child abuse images by the convicted paedophile who shared similar material with former BBC newsreader Huw Edwards has been spared jail after his defence team argued magistrates should consider “parity” with the broadcaster’s suspended sentence.

Jac Davies, 25, was given a sentence of 12 months, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to possession of indecent images of children and possession of Class A drugs.

Leeds Magistrates’ Court was told on Tuesday that Davies was investigated after South Wales Police discovered he was found to have been involved in the sharing of images with Alex Williams.

Prosecutor Michelle Kruger said: “South Wales Police had been dealing with Alex Williams. As part of the investigation into that individual, this defendant was found to have been involved in indecent images being shared.

  1. Another suspended sentence for a nonce.. UK justice system is broken.

  2. This is what happens when you don’t make an example of idols and celebrities. “Oh, they can get away with it….”

  3. The sentencing guidelines need to be changed because he should have been given a mandatory custodial sentence. Warning the article is very disturbing, but the individual had downloaded the worst kind of abuse material, and he had redistributed it.

If you download and redistribute such offensive and evil material, you are just as bad as a rapist, and you should face a mandatory prison sentence.

  4. bruh just put them in prison. Why do non-crime-hate-incidents and online commnets get time and all these doe’s walk free?

  5. This is just feeding the right wing more ammunition. All the public are seeing at the moment is that social media posts, inflammatory, violence inducing or otherwise, are getting treated more harshly than child abuse and child pornography. One has to wonder if the point of all this is cause more civil unrest.
