Princess Beatrice seemed a dab hand at design, not only meeting with the charity’s Education Director, Jacqueline Farrell, but also getting involved with designer techniques herself, including smocking and embroidery.
This engagement marks the first time that the Princess of York has represented the Crown at a King’s Foundation event. While Beatrice is not considered a working royal (nor is her sister, Princess Eugenie), she has stepped up to represent the royal family at a number of events this year, a vital support while King Charles and Catherine, Princess of Wales, undergo cancer treatment.
In May, Princess Beatrice supported Prince William at a Buckingham Palace garden party and also delivered her first live TV interview from the top of the Empire State Building to talk about the work of the charity Outward Bound, which her grandfather, Prince Philip, supported for more than six decades.
Just before flying back to the UK for the King’s Foundation event, Beatrice was in Abu Dhabi for the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference, which aims to accelerate the global transition away from fossil fuels. Beatrice, who works as the vice president of tech company Afiniti, took to the stage to issue a powerful rallying call.
