I thought Edward Stobart that died in 2011 was the founder, but it appears that was his son.
They’re organising a slow memorial drive, 2 abreast up the A1.
It was only last night I watched the Gavin and Stacey episode of Nessa telling the story of Eddie Stobart.
Hector Brocklebank will be gutted.
I’ll never forgive Eddie for making Mark drive from Crick to Lutterworth back into Crick then to Newey, Doncaster and on to Bolton. It’s utter madness
I was absolutely certain he died about 10 years ago, I even remember making the Nessa joke
There was a family that used to live near me who would travel around the country and wait in lay-bys and in bridges over motorways looking to spot them and they would write down the “names” of the trucks (apparently they are called things like Bessie or whatever)
They will be devastated

I swear he died years ago. However his last wishes were to be cut up on the M25.
The younger Stobart who died years ago was like a lorry. Limited to 56.
At least that means that “Die Bart” meme of the truck with the logo on one door will not be as common.
Them trucks are a British institution at this point in time
