Are Christmas bygones in store for the British royal family? Signs point to maybe, as a source revealed that Kate Middleton is thinking of reaching out to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the holidays, a sign that she wants the feud to come to an end.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold said in an interview with GB News that Middleton may be the one to bring the family back together, if only for a moment. “I believe that Catherine will reach out to Harry and Meghan and wish them a Happy Christmas, and I think Harry and Meghan themselves will possibly reach out,” Harrold explained. “The thing about Christmas is that it’s all about goodwill to others, letting bygones be bygones, forgetting the past, moving into the New Year.”

The butler continued, “So if there’s any point in the year that the families are going to communicate or touch base, it’s going to be over Christmas—there’s something magical about Christmas that gets families back together.”
This Christmas, Middleton and Prince William are celebrating Christmas with the annual service at Sandringham. Harry and Markle were not invited, and haven’t attended the event since 2018, while Middleton, William, and their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have gone to Sandringham almost every year alongside King Charles. Markle and Harry will enjoy Christmas this year from their home in Montecito.

Harrold’s comments supports previous reports of Middleton trying to make an effort to get the family back together. She reportedly urged the royal family to wish Harry a happy birthday—even though it may have been a royal order—in September, and separately gave him a call for his special day.
“She told William in no uncertain terms that this is not the time for resentment, they needed to show the world that love and family are front and center of their values, but more importantly she wanted Harry to have this message on his big day,” a royal source told Express at the time. “Kate was very much the driving force behind Harry’s birthday wishes, as she slowly makes good on her vow to restore some kind of peace and forgiveness between the estranged royal and his family before it’s too late.”
