  1. I think there’s much more room for creativity and interesting ways to represent the data than a table with coloured cells on a white page with some text and a bunch of footnotes.

  2. ‘Drive a car’ for Germany should be 17. It is allowed if certain conditions are met

  3. So many of these are so interesting to me.

Germany has the lowest age (16) for their people to vote in EU elections but goes to the standard 18 for their own elections? Not sure how EU elections work but seems weird to do an international vote at a lower age

I’m flabbergasted by the age of consent being below driving a car or voting or being in the military. You’re mature and adult enough to say yes to a 30 year old who is attracted to you as a 14-15 year old but not responsible enough to be trusted with a car or vote?

I kind of love the S. Korea rule of “must turn 19 in that calendar year” – makes it so easy for ID reasons and levels everyone in that school age to the same time for drinking

  4. There are states that allow driving a car at 14 years old.

  5. I will literally never understand how alcohol & horeca lobby and common sense still couldnt reduce US drinking age down to 18

  6. I always wonder how 18 became the standard for most of these.

  7. Where did you get the legally consent to sex for US?

As for the graphic, I guess the colors were picked and maybe a circle diagram be used or something that is a graphic instead of a table?

  8. The fact that there are countries at all, let alone *developed* countries, that have an age of consent as low as 14 is pretty wild to me. Hopefully there are at least some restrictions on how old their partners can be.

  9. when you learn how to be self reliant,

as we humans can alter our reality, this becomes a moving target, adults tend to go extinct in late stage civilizations

  10. Drive a car in Canada is essentially starting at age 14 with learners license and alone at 16.

  11. You need to change UK to England cause different countries e.g in Scotland it’s 16 to vote and have sex, have different ages.
