You can also [see where policies have been dropped in your state](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/12/18/climate/insurance-nonrenewal-rates-policies-state-map.html?unlocked_article_code=1.iU4.E5pr.317qCCKlKDiU)
We were talking about this yesterday at home. What happens to these people when insurance pulls out? Surely these people aren’t going to lose their homes because a company pulled out, right?
there has to be a point where government intervenes in this. for-profit works great until disasters strike. then it crumbles. home insurance is one of the canaries in the coal mine. Unfortunately, the owners of the insurance companies have won the most recent election in the us and I suspect this to only go from bad to terrible.
Yeah but climate change is a hoax. /s
Maybe we should consider burning less fossil fuels
It’s almost like these giant corporations are benefitting from gouging for insurance and then when you can’t get insurance you are then forced to rent from these giant corps that are buying up city blocks. Weird how they always win. Yay capitalism.
Climate change is illegal in Florida per DeSantis administration. So we’re good down here!
