This was found this morning in a hole in a wall, bizarre I know but would anyone know how old this bottle is? I can’t find much info on it at all

Taste it and see
Looks similar to the how they were in the 80’s, without the pish in it though.
Looks Like the same style of bottle we had back in the 70’s
Have a look at the cap and see how much could have been redeemed for its return, that might help.
Are there any markings on the base? Sometimes there can be a date stamp.
The branding places it after 1947 and before the re-branding in 1988. The E211 code was created in 1964 so it must be later than that. Apparently 1975 is when soft drinks started being labelled in metric units so I would say that bottle was made some time between the mid-1970s and 1988.
Look for a best before date, it will have been made around 12 months before that
Imagine taking home a bottle of piss.
Hm, Piss or old Irn Bru? Place your bets
That label was introduced in the mid 70s and was replaced around the 90s (edit: late 80s)
I Irn Bru…
1970s, I think.
based on resemblance to this: [https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images2/360/1111/06/vintage-barrs-irn-bru-1970s-glass_360_41c62c3ed89df3f81855ab100a638954.jpg](https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images2/360/1111/06/vintage-barrs-irn-bru-1970s-glass_360_41c62c3ed89df3f81855ab100a638954.jpg)

see the 1980s one has a bunch of little boxes at the bottom of the label to show the month ?
Huv a swally an see if its still fizzy?
I wonder if you could take this Glass Cheque to their headquarters in Cumbernauld to get the deposit back on the bottle 🤨
Cool find OP
also, what size does it say on it ?
I think the older imperial bottles were 25fl.oz. or 710ml. Newer ones were 750ml. That might help narrow the age down further.
Drink it
The Irn Bru of youth.
They need to bring this variant back. Word best hangover cure. Give me all the sugar and E numbers.
10 pence back o that.
I could be wrong but I’m think the 80s
Drink it or it didn’t happen.
After decimal/metric
Don’t spill it on your carpet
Yee olde girders
5p back if you return it.
Is that a best before date on the cap
The return value will help date it.
In the mid 80s, we were getting 10p for these. We once found enough to empty the penny sweet tray in the local shop.
What does it say on the top of the cap?
40 odd year old pish
The deposit amount on the bottle will be a good guide
