OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Duke Energy announced that it plans to test the sirens around the Oconee Nuclear Station in January.
Testing is scheduled to take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for five to 30 seconds on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The power company said it may be necessary to test some sirens more than once to make sure they are functioning properly.
Follow-up testing could also be required after 1 p.m.
