Feels like a tenuous connection to cancel her show over, even if Polo is a big flop.
How many people know or care about Polo?? A cooking or lifestyle show has way broader appeal, especially among people who might care about Harry and Meghan (namely women).
I’m not watching hours of a reality show about a sport I’ve barely heard of and will never watch. I 100% will watch a cooking show where I can ogle Meghan’s outfits, a beautiful house, and listen to her chat about food and wine!
Source: the trolls that spend all day talking shit about them on the internet. What a nothing article lol
I agreed with their initial decision to move out of the UK but find them so exhausting now.
I feel like it is strange that the cooking and lifestyle show was not released first. It also seems weird that little has leaked about it, I thought Netflix would start hyping it up with the trade publications.
There are dozens of cooking shows & celebrity chefs already. What’s her gimmick gonna be to stand out? British food is also notoriously awful, so it’s not like she could use that cultural angle. I don’t see the appeal, might last a few episodes but cancel quickly once the novelty wears off.
I don’t know. I think a cooking show could be a great fit for their brand if done well – it ties in with the cookbook work that Meghan did for Grenfell, and the jam thing – though we haven’t heard too much more about that lately unfortunately. She’s certainly personable enough to make it a nice, easy watch.
It’s a shame about the polo doc. In fairness, I haven’t watched it yet. What I’ve read about it so far doesn’t really interest me all that much so I don’t know that I’m necessarily missing out.
According to previous rumours the deal is structured that they get an annual payment and then more money is released in stages as they deliver projects. So if Netflix doesn’t like the show it probably makes sense not to sign off on it and release more funds.
I’ll be quite surprised if the cooking series is released and successful. It feels like H&M have made a lot of missteps in terms of their personal brand and goals since stepping down from the BRF. At this point it seems like they’re randomly picking projects just hoping *something* will stick. Time will tell how this latest venture plays out.
There is just no there there with the H&M. Beyond “exposing” the royal family, what do they have? Nothing.
Press says the shootings are done and the show is ready for release. Only thing stopping it from being released is the pending trademark
The problem with most royals is on their own they are pretty boring. Being royal is what makes them interesting.
