  8. It’s hard to decide if it’s deliberate or not… I mean their ships are such rusty crap anyway.

    But it actually has a great double-purpose. First, destroy Russia’s Shadow-Fleet.

    Second, draw attention to oil being so polluting – it is necessary for many things, but as a fuel source it is increasingly redundant.

    Although there is an initial cost, this can potentially force Russia to clean up its act with tankers and refineries, or nobody will be allowed to buy at all. Again, the benefit is twofold, first for the environment and second to make Russia spend money on things that aren’t bullets.

    (Yes, yes, I know Russia does what it likes right now, but we’re not putting the squeeze on for nothing)

  10. I stated in prior reddit comments that one of the creeping issues occurring in ruzzia which they are doing everything within their power to hide/obfuscate is increasing maintenance issues in the transportation sectors. Ships, planes and more.

    ruzzia is very aggressive in its disinformation. Attempting to counter all UA points about the reduction in military stocks, state of economy and asset maintenance. The kremlin mouthpieces attempt to steer all social media touchpoints to the fact ruzzia is still aggressive on certain areas of the front, and therefore everything else is false.

    That is in fact the false narrative. ruzzia’s military strength and quantity of assets, and its economic situation are decelerating at a very fast and increasing rate. Ukraine has prospects because it has real tangible support from many NATO countries and their friends in the pan pacific and elsewhere. ruzzia lacks this.

    Its unfortunate that it is a “timely” process. But like the collapse in Syria, I can see a date when it will also happen to ruzzia. We are not yet there but the deceleration is definitely underway.
