Wilkin and Sons at Tiptree started making preserves in 1885 and was first granted a Royal Warrant from King George V in 1911. It has continued to be granted them from successive UK monarchs since.
Now the company has been granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment as Purveyors of Tiptree Products to King Charles III.
The Wilkin family has been farming at Tiptree in Essex since 1757. The company grows a host of traditional English fruits which it uses to make conserves, condiments and other products.
Wilkin and Sons chairman Walter Scott – grantee of the Royal Warrant – said: “We are honoured and proud that His Majesty has granted us his Warrant.
“Every member of staff understands the importance of this and we are delighted to continue this tradition.”
Wilkin and Sons runs Tiptree tea rooms throughout East Anglia and its sister companies are Thursday Cottage, Cole’s Puddings, and Tiptree Patisserie. Tiptree farm grows fruit for preserving and for the retail market.
The company sees the Royal Warrant as as indicator of quality and service and says it is recognised by customers across the globe.
