(WLUK) — Our first named winter storm of the season will be moving into the area on Thursday.
Winter Storm Asher is expected to start after the Thursday morning commute and it will be steady throughout the day. Most of the area will pick up between 4 and 7 inches of accumulation by early Friday morning.
The Lakeshore counties may pick up 8 inch totals as heavier snow bands push through late in the afternoon and overnight.
Expect road conditions to become hazardous as the day wears on.
As of Wednesday morning, the center of Winter Storm Asher is just outside of Calgary and will track through the Dakotas, Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois in the next 36 hours. Get ready for Winter Storm Asher today, before the storm hits.
This snow will be coming to an end on Friday morning. The roads may still be slippery and snow-covered, particularly secondary roads. There is another chance for accumulating snow on Monday, just in time for the Packers game.
