A Labour minister has been named in an investigation into claims her family embezzled up to £3.9bn from infrastructure projects in Bangladesh. Tulip Siddiq, who as the Treasury’s Economic Secretary is responsible for tackling corruption in UK financial markets

1. She should have done like the Tories and embezzled from this country instead.

2. See when she applied, she said she had experience in corruption, she just didn’t specify from which side

3. At this rate the only thing left in that party will be the name of it

   So I appreciate that the scale of the corruption is much less, but if this is the price of “Electability” then it has cost too much.

8. So, they accused her of stealing £3.9bn from Bangladesh nuclear plant construction, and they still managed to build it. Hinkley Point C, which started the same year, is planned to take twice that time to build for triple the cost … maybe we should start looking closer than Bangladesh?

9. Another labour scandal? Add it to the pile I guess..

10. If you import large numbers of people from countries with problems with corruption ofc, some of those people are going to have family members involved in embezzlement.
