Unless of course that would require the freezing of his mates assets in which case tough luck Ukraine
Indeed. This war isn’t in the interest of the Russian people whatsoever.
Then again Bojo would know quite abit about supporting Wars and Political Policies that have little popular backing by the public, eh?
“Please stop this war – our financial backing depends on anonymous Russian doners; and these wars make it much harder to collect”
>I do not believe this war is in your name’
But democracy has a price…….and I am more than prepared to sell my principles to the highest bidder.
This is your first lesson in ‘Western Democracy’ don’t let it go to waste.
I am impressed with Boris. It is his moment. His russian is great. Is he bilingual?
Yeah, Putin is fighting a solo battle in Ukraine. Absolutely no participation by any other Russians.
Should we stop talking about the leader of a country who doesn’t think rules apply to him, to talk about another leader of a country who doesn’t think rules apply to him ….? 🤔
I’m agreeing with Alexander. This is the weirdest timeline.
Coming from a leader that hides in a fridge if someone asks him a difficult question, his script writers are trying to up their game.
Again, the PM is saying one thing while doing another.
If the Russian people aren’t on Putins side, banning Swift is the best way to change that. It literally stops us sending money to Russian opposition.
They aren’t. But now is not the time for dithering. Everybody must cease conducting business with Russia.
The only thing I have to say about events that might occur to businesses that are continuing to conduct business with Russia in a month or so. Is [Jury Nullification](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jury_nullification).
As for politicians that have taken Russian money since they annexed Crimea. Then resign immediately. I can no longer assume in good faith that you are no corruptly compromised. As a gesture of good faith on my own behalf I will not take your resignation as an admission of guilt. The opposite. I will see you appreciating that it’s not a good look and trying to make amends. But you must resign.
Just like the illegal wars we entered in to weren’t in the British publics name
Putin see’s Johnson as a joke but the UK has to stop his aggression, if not then could be a neighboring Nato country next
Boris is one of the few who can say something so right and yet it still sounds so wrong.
He is saying all the right things, now all he has to do is make the right calls at the right time. It’s easy to talk but Johnson has done a lot of talking over the years, his actions do not match what he says when it comes to crises though. I hope that this is the moment he chooses to not act like Boris the persona and to act like an actual politician should.
For what it’s worth, every Russian I know is horrified and angry about what their government is doing. Some of them are taking great personal risks by protesting in Russia.
We did have a free Britain and freedom of travel into Europe, until he wanted brexit, and now we can only stay in Europe for 90days a year. He only believes in freedom for the rich to pay crap wages and takeaway the freedom of workers, who can’t afford to have a day off work, or freedom to protest. Freedom to protest is part of democracy, which proves he doesn’t really believe in democracy, you can see that, by how he acts like a dictator. And I think that’s how he sees him self. Just my opinion of the scummy c**t I see.
I can see this conflict ending one of five ways, from most to least likely:
1. Russia takes Kyiv and annexes the entire nation. Sanctions are extended to include all Russian banks, oligarchs, etc. The people revolt against Putin and drive him out of power. What cements Putin’s downfall is that he’s pissed off the elite with his war.
2. Russia takes Kyiv and annexes the entire nation. Western powers do nothing and try to appease Putin, just like with Hitler in the 1930’s. He sets his sights on other Eastern European and South Asian nations that he thinks he can get away with invading. Eventually, this leads to war.
3. Ukraine whoops Russia’s ass so hard that the Red Army comes back humiliated. Putin is ousted by revolution. This very well could happen given how fiercely Ukraine has fought back, also because the Soviets already had two crippling defeats against smaller nations with Finland and Afghanistan.
4. Russia takes Kyiv, and as it becomes increasingly clear that Ukraine will lose, NATO stage a counter-invasion against Russian forces. The war goes thermonuclear. Various UK, EU and US cities and military sites are targeted by nuclear strikes. Nuclear-armed NATO nations respond in kind towards Russia. World War III starts.
5. Same as Scenario #4, except Putin isn’t crazy enough to hit the big red button because even he understands that if he uses nuclear force, there will be no world left to rule. NATO forces push the Red Army back to Russia then invade the country. The only nukes we see are purely defensive and targeted at invading soldiers.
