Haha reminds me of the guy who invented radar in WWII and then was pulled in for speeding, caught by the speed gun, and he said “if id known it’d be used like that I wouldn’t have invented it”
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Clearly he ought to have consulted with VW on emissions testing.
It’s ironic. He prevents others from drink-driving, but not himself.
Could he try and point out a fault within the system to save himself? I.e. when he has that level of knowledge.
If he was clever he’d have coded in a back door. Lol
This goes in the vault with the Segway creator that drove off a cliff on a Segway.
Clearest definition of ‘hoisted with his own petard”
Are these devices very expensive?
I always think it’s very strange that Americans don’t seem to use them and just get people to do the ministry of silly walks and do party tricks like the backwards alphabet instead.
Now this incident it is very on trend, and in there somewhere is a life lesson for someone with a healthy level of introspection.
“You won’t believe this officer but I actually helped design that”
Does anyone know why they don’t use them in USA?on shows you see them giving the drivers some other test
> A British scientist who helped design a roadside breathalyser test has been banned from driving after he was found to be over the alcohol limit.
> Dr Richard Lacey, 70, admitted to having a “couple of glasses of wine” and a “few pints” during a lunch before he mounted his Peugeot 208 on a roundabout in Powys, Wales.
Hoisted with his own petard?
Ha ha ha, good, now lets see the drug wipes inventor caught after a spliff with his breakfast.
