The EU can deploy 4 Carrier Strike Group but Italy would have to face the reality that the British learned the hard and unfortunately fatal way at the cost of 2 State of the Art Destroyers, 2 Frigates, 1 LSL, 1 LCU and a merchant ship in the Falklands nearly 4 decades ago that cover from the air force is not guaranteed
Yeah the Type 42 or Sheffield Class were state of the art at the time equal to the Spruance Class of the US Navy
