1. Residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk, located 12 km away, reported two powerful explosions on the evening of Wednesday, 18 December. Media reports indicate that they could have occurred in the area of the main naval base of the Russian Northern Fleet.

2. Murmansk is about 2,500km away from Kyiv.

   For context, moscow to germany is 2,100km distance

23. That navel base is one of the biggest threats to the Norwegian island Svalbard, which Russia really want for its very rich resources and it’s strategic placing. So if the Murmansk navel base got hit, it’s a big loss for Russia, and a big sigh of releif for Norway.
