  41. The weird thing about US Climate Denialism and what people just don’t seem to get in the UK is how unimportant it is?

    GE is still the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer, Nextera is still the world’s largest green energy provider.

    The way to see it is they like green technology because it makes money and it’s new and shiny, what they don’t like is “some commie harping on about ‘climate justice’ and some red under the bed whispering ‘buy Chinese solar panels’”.

    Their major emissions problem is also transport and unfortunately nobody was going to be driving an electric car on their 2 hour commute in Texas or drive for 62 hours (including charging) to get across the state rather than fly in the near future anyway. They were always going to rely on market solutions as they arise and they are very good at delivering those.
