The financial plan for the Croatian broadcaster HRT features funding for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2025.

The Croatian public broadcaster HRT has released its financial plan for 2025. The document which outlines the spending plans for the broadcaster for 2025, shows that 78,000 Euros has been allocated to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The budget allocation comes after the Croatian Head of Delegation, Tomislav Štengl confirmed that HRT was examining participation in the 2025 contest. HRT aired the contest for the first time in 10 years, having last participated in the 2014 contest in Malta.

The size of the budget allocated to Junior Eurovision by HRT is 20% of the size allocated to Eurovision 2025 which totals 368,000 Euro. HRT is launching The Voice Kids Hrvatska on December 21, with the show potentially being used to select the Croatian representative for the competition.

HRT has not publicly confirmed that it will be competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. However, the size of the budget allocation strongly indicates that they will return next year.

Croatia debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and won the first competition represented by Dino Jelusić and his song “Ti si moja prva ljubav”. Following their victory, Croatia was due to host the competition after the United Kingdom had difficulties. However, Croatia also had to withdraw as their planned venue was booked for the dates of the contest. Croatia went on to participate until 2006 when they withdrew from the competition. In 2014 Croatia returned represented by Josie and her song “Game Over”. She finished last with 13 points.
