I only found these Christmas gifts because our green bin was rejected for containing cardboard.

  1. Yes and they managed to do it on collection day too!

  2. I’m fine with this. As long as its one of the clean bins (glass or paper) then it’s ok & don’t have to go chasing it at depots!

  3. If the drivers going to leave it somewhere, and you haven’t selected a safe space when ordering, they should definitely be leaving a note detailing where they’ve left it and also taking and sending you a picture of where it has been left.

  4. Not Amazon, but Hermes, a few years back, put a £700 smartphone in my cardboard bin lol

  5. Yeah, when it was raining and they didn’t want to leave it at the back door and risk damaging it

  6. Yes they did it to me and they did it on collection day. It was a £300 Lego set for my son’s Christmas present that id saved all year to get.

Fortunately I have nice neighbours who went and fetched it out for me before the bins were taken. Friggin yodel.

  7. This is why I specify a safe place for the drivers.

Realistically, this is the safest place they can put it when you’re not in and have left no instructions. Someone going through your bin is gonna be easy to notice for anyone.

  8. Aye quite often, all different couriers do it. Usually leave it in the blue recycling bin rather than the green one but. I prefer they do that than leave it on the step in full view.

  9. Yesterday i answered my door to an Amazon driver “delivering” my parcel to my green bin (it’s kept right next to my front door). He seemed surprised and sheepish when he realised I was in. Fanny

  10. They always put in my cardboard bins when I’m not home

  11. Yes, fuckers put one in our food bin. So the cardboard packaging soaked up all the gunk at the bottom of it

  12. Parcel that size can be delivered to a drop off point.

There’s loads of drop off points less than half a mile from me – I never have parcels delivered to my house to avoid stuff like this.

  13. Loads of times unfortunately. I had one left in the bin when it was bin day! It was on the roadside.

Contacted Amazon and told them the bin lorry had had it. Got a refund

  14. Yes I was an amazon driver. Used to regularly put it bin, the bin keeps it safe and dry…..

  15. Evri and Amazon both do this to me constantly despite me begging them not to. I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t for the fact they don’t always post the wee note through the door alerting me it’s there and have done it on collection days.. ive lost six parcels now to collection day.

  16. Not just Amazon. Yodel. DPD. Royal Mail. Evri. Everyone does it.

  17. Yup, I do it all the time, not on collection day though. If it is collection day and your bin is out, if it’s already empty, ill put it in and I’ll bring your bin in for you 🙂

    P.s
Make sure you have a safe place if you’re not in.
If you’re ordering alcohol, BE IN
If your parcel requires an OTP… BE IN

  18. Ex amazon driver here. If you’re not giving straight instructions where to put your parcel, on the app we had „any safe place” or „behing wheelie bin”. The reason why we put parcels in the bin (usually blue one) is to prevent the parcel getting wet because we don’t know what’s inside.

  19. Yes, a couple of times or more I have had parcels placed inside my recycle bin.

  20. I’ve specified to leave it in one of my two recycling bins in the past if I know I’m gonna be out. No issue with it going there at all.

  21. I had an original water colour shoved down BEHIND the bin on a day of torrential rain. It didn’t survive 😢

  22. Yup “delivered to safe place” on a card. Package was in my recycling bin on collection day luckily the bin men took it out and left in on my doorstep instead.

  23. Plastic Tins and cardboard in the green bin. Wtf is this timeline were living in

  24. Common in Ireland, people even request it if they’re not in.

  25. Had it happen a few times but it was always in the cardboard bin and they’d leave a card telling me where it was.

  26. I had an Amazon courier walk in my front door, last week, to drop the parcel in the hallway.

He was fucking lucky my dogs weren’t fast enough to catch him.

  27. They left mine dumped between my bins in pouring rain the other day.

  28. yes i had a record get put in the plastic bin. thought i lost it until i looked at the photo lol
