Check the picture. It's completely fake. Even for a garbage newspaper this is low. All it does is creating fear in the population.
Seeing how a massive impact media can have on the population these type of posts should be heavily monitored.
VRT received a fine of 20k because a bag of rice appeared for too long in Dagelijkse Kost but this is ok?

I think in Flanders the VMM (Vlaamse Milieu Maatschappij, not to be confused with VMR) is responsible for sewers, so you may want to complain to them that their sewer HLN is a bit too stinky.
To somewhat answer your question, because we don’t want to prosecute news organizations for publishing things that are incorrect, as that would be a violation of the freedom of the press.
Showing a commercial for a bag of rice without plainly making it clear it’s a commercial however is not a violation of the freedom of the press.
HLN is always about clickbait and fearmongering.
Check the amount of articles on Tom Waes his accident or Aron Wade.
Most of them were +-aticles just to get that sweet sweet money
Articles about Ukraine and Foreign Affairs in general can barely be called journalism at this point. They usually just translate stuff from Reuters or Belga which is written by some unknown government agency or interest group, usually with heavy biases. News quality and objectivity has been going downhill FAST, even for traditionally trustworthy sources.
Your best bet to get the correct facts is to follow blogs, substacks and social media of independent journalists with proven track records. I hate that that’s the only way to get objective reporting nowadays but traditional news agencies barely even try anymore.
If people want more regulation on businesses, they shouldn’t be voting N-VA.
The freedom for a private business to be sensationalist and misleading is what gives these businesses profits.
Tbh every news company is absolute shit and filled with bait articles
Because there’s this thing called freedom of the press in Belgium. It’s been in the Constitution since 1831. Do you actually want the government to decide which articles are ‘good’ and which ones are ‘bad’?
