It appears that the British royal family is bracing for a new crisis, potentially even a succession, as King Charles III’s health shows no signs of improvement following his diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith revealed that Prince William and Princess Kate, who is also battling a form of cancer, are preparing to take the crown.

In the case of the Princess of Wales, she has gradually resumed her royal duties after announcing in September that she had completed her treatment. Meanwhile, William has taken on most of the royal schedule, even though King Charles III continues to carry out his duties.

Although the King performs his duties with his usual determination, he has had to accept certain limitations during cancer treatment. As a result, William has assumed greater responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than expected.

Queen Consort Camilla has also scaled back her royal engagements as she recovers from pneumonia-related issues. This situation with the monarch’s health could hasten the immediate succession. However, neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has issued any statements about the King’s health or the potential for him to step down.

It should be recalled that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February of this year and has been undergoing chemotherapy since. Despite his illness, he has continued with his schedule, delegating some events to his son.

Notably, during an official visit to Australia and Samoa in October, Charles temporarily paused his treatment with his doctors’ approval. However, the King’s current health condition remains a mystery outside of the royal family.
