Programme at NIT Trichy bats for data analysis by MSMEs

Trichy: A five-day management training programme for startups and entry-level MSMEs conducted by NIT Trichy concluded on Friday. Experts from management sectors urged participants to analyse data to assess risks before expanding their business ventures.
Sponsored by the Union MSME ministry, the training programme, ‘Mitigating Risks: Essential Training for Small and Medium Businesses’ was organised by the department of management studies of NIT Trichy from Dec 16. It provided insights on risk mitigation strategies to overcome the challenges associated in business operations. Around 25 participants from across the country were trained about proper methods to expand their business operations.
Director of NIT Trichy G Aghila highlighted the importance of using data while scaling up business to the next level. Insights on the role of the data and why it is an important pillar to mitigate risks in an organisation were explained by Manikandan Murugesan, associate director, manufacturing operations, PwC. Topics such as enterprise risk management, HR risk management, logistic risk, and financial risk management were explained. The programme was second in the series of business leadership initiatives after the women leadership programme conducted by the institute in this academic year.
