  1. Sad that people can’t enjoy a lovely time of year without some fucking lunatic

  2. [More info from german media](https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/gesellschaft/magdeburg-weihnachtsmarkt-104.html)

    > A car has driven into a group of people at the Christmas market in Magdeburg. A spokesperson for the state government of Saxony-Anhalt told MDR that it was an attack. The police have not yet confirmed this. Emergency services and the fire department are on the scene. There are said to be numerous casualties. It is not known whether there are any fatalities.

  3. There is a video of the attack and it doesn’t look good. Would be surprised if no one died.

  4. Were there no Merkel-stones as usual or how did this happen?

  5. Several deaths according to Norwegian news (via German news). Horrible news.

  6. That’s why the AfD is more and more popular in Germany

  7. Tragic. Will this be happening every single year in Europe now?

  8. It’s that time of the year. Hopefully, nothing will happen during the New Year’s Eve.

  9. The video shown on X is traumatic. I hope there are no fatalities but based on the video, I sadly think there will be multiple and many life changing injuries

  10. And what will change after this? Nothing. it’ll be forgotten till the next one happens, and so it shall repeat.

  11. I’ve seen the video, it looks like the driver meant to go over the crowd, we can all guess as to why…

Edit: the footage is horrible please don’t watch it if you are sensitive

  12. Again, and again and again and again……………

  13. You got all the freedom here to do whatever you want and you can even leave the place to anywhere you like. Then you choose to ruin multiple lives. Stop hating!

  14. I was just at Bremen christmas market, it was lovely, I had a nice time with my husband and my 3 year old kid. I can’t even imagine if this happened during our visit. Definitely getting anxious now whether or not we should visit christmas market again in another cities. Prayer for the victims and their families.

  15. We know what kind of person did this but we can’t say it.

  16. Peace activists thanking Europe for our humanitarianism once again. Remember guys, no one will be held responsible for this. At most we will get thoughts and prayers.

  17. According to eyewitnesses, the POS specifically drove into the fairytale area of the Christmas market, where there are many young families

  18. Its crazy how it 10 years span we should be afraid to go to Christmas markets… who would imagine

  19. If you can’t feel safe in your own country on Christmas you have a serious problem to fix

  20. Makes me feel appreciative of how safe Poland is… this is madness

  21. Jannies working overtime in this thread, double their pay I say!

  22. It’s gonna be a lot of [deleted] on this sub really fast

  23. Genuine insanity, I can’t imagine going to Christmas festivities in my hometown and returning in a body bag.

And it’s pretty much expected at this point, every year.

  24. I love the narrative as if the car drive itself into the crowd. Way to go, Germany

  25. 51 minutes and still not locked? Impressed. Guess not many people are trying to guess the drivers name.

  26. and when I went to a nearby Christmas market (UK) there were those bollards and armed police around.

Something needs to change. People should be able to enjoy Christmas without fear of being murdered.
