  10. I have serious doubts that Trump ever thought his bill would be passed (especially since the Senate and White House are still in Democratic control until Jan 3)… it was always about creating a crisis and blaming Biden.

  13. Trump is clueless. AND he will get the blame along with Musk. It SHOULD be Biden working with Congress, but Trump and Musk inserted themselves and Republicans just can’t help themselves. It’s funny. If they had ignored Trump (and Musk) on the first bill instead of the second, we wouldn’t be here, but they (at least enough of them) chose to ignore Trump (and Musk) on the second one instead and caused a massive screw up and Trump isn’t even in office yet. They’re all morons.

  16. It was obvious that the Republican plan was the shutdown the government on Biden/Harris if one of them won the election but punt on spending if Trump pulled it out. But they’re so undisciplined that they can’t control their own caucus. Trump is a lame duck before he even takes office. He didn’t run on any policy platform other than mass deportations which means he has nothing to bargain with for congressional Republicans.

    Musk on the other hand looks like a kingmaker to them. He and his friends can single-handedly fund their campaigns for whatever office they choose. We’re actively seeing the start of the 2028 republican primary as 219 potential stooges seek to prove their loyalty to daddy Musk.
