20 years ago today the Northern Bank in Belfast was robbed of £26.5 million in cash.

  1. Who remembers when the BBC turned up to interview one of the bank officials kidnapped by the robbers at his home and he was wearing a Celtic jersey, which struck me as a strange choice at the time.

    He was later charged with the robbery, but no evidence was offered at the trial.

  5. “cash” lol. If only the Northern bank dealt in something useful that couldn’t just be pulled from circulation. Like dollars…. Or Zimbabwe dollars….. Or artisanal cheese.
