  1. Well deserved. She was on our flight on the way back from Paris after winning her medal and was really sound, took photos with everyone, signed everything had a laugh and a joke with everyone. You wouldn’t have believed she had a gold medal in her back pocket she was really humble

  2. I’d say she’s happy some immigrant didn’t win it anyway!

  3. Probably deserved. I could see an argument for Katie too, on the basis of winning the biggest and highest level female boxing match in history this year

  4. Rhasidat Adeleke should have won this by a country mile ahead of Kelly. And Mona McSharry also should be ahead of her. Both are brilliant committed athletes. And genuine role models.

Boxing is a barbaric & voyeristic sport, we should not be elevating boxing as a sport to aspire to. It’s a pathway to brain damage. In terms of participation levels female boxing is also miles behind athletics & swimming in female sports. Is there any logical parent that would want their children to pursue boxing ahead of swimming or athletics? Seriously. Complete nonsensical to award this to Kelly.

  5. I would have given this to Rhasidat. She had a fantastic year.
