Life is resuming in the Syrian capital Damascus amidst the hope of a new dawn for the country. The pictures of Bashar al-Assad, which once adorned the city, are now strewn across the streets and residents are joining crowds of festive celebrations, and recommencing normal life. Uncertainty remains though, not least over how the country will rebuild under the rebel-led transitional government.
