I was on a student exchange program in Finland some 40 years ago.I was based in the area around Tampere, but was able , through my work , to travel quite widely , inc to Rovaniemi in the north.
A Finnish friend and his wife gifted me a small bottle of Marli Arctic Cloudberry Liqueur as a farewell gift.
I have never opened the bottle because of its sentimental value to me giving me happy memories of my wonderful 3 months in Finland.
Time passes and now I want to share it with my close family on Christmas Day and re call those times. I am Scottish, and visited Finland again several times. Will it be safe to consume , perhaps with some ice cream on Christmas Lunch.

That stuff has never been safe to consume.
Best wishes, former native teenager.
Tried it once 20 years ago and it resulted in instant headache. Good luck.
Amazing… Liqueur from 1982
Merry christmas to you and everyone of your family there in Scotland
IMHO it would be nice to preserve that bottle and rather go hunting for a new consumable one.
The product will be safe to use, but I can guarantee the taste hasn’t improved. Actually it probably has none of the delicate cloudberry left and only tastes like sugar.
Recommended: search for a quality liqueur merchant, buy new one.
Safe, most probably. It has 28% alcohol and high sugar content, so it doesn’t really spoil much. But the taste is not necessarily the same any more – which does no harm if the taste is good. I suggest maybe open the bottle day before and check the taste, and have a backup plan.
I will pass thanks
Is it alcohol or chemical? The spirit of it commands me to deny it’s own existance. I guess we meet you in nearby hours again and ask again.
Marli liquers, yuck 😅
