This is in part due to the unique way the government has defunded HMRC. No wonder foreign nationals want to set up in business here if no one is checking where their money is coming from, whether or not their business is actually a proper “business” doing what it claims to, or just a front, and whether or not they’re paying the right amount of tax.
Is the idea behind the policy of not checking that it will attract more business = more money?

Ah yes, Deregulation by Thatcher, eau de toilet. The foul stink of corruption has been going on for 30 years. It really got into it’s stride just in time for the fall of communism. And who took all that money in that was stolen from the Russians? London, nobody else would touch it.

For ages on Reddit I’ve been called an idiot for saying that allowing British businesses to be bought up by foreign investors was a disaster. People said that it’s more important to get investment than none, even if the profits go abroad. Now we’re seeing the real world consequences of selling off the country.
Uniper is a major owner of UK power generation plants…
Uniper is majority owned by Russia.
They own our very infrastructure. They own our heat and electricity.
Husband and I owned a corp in Costa Rica which in turn owned a property. Abour 4 years ago the gov of CR began to require all corps to register their beneficial owners of corps. The banks and other legal entities require the gov approved beneficial owner identifyer document. Without it we cannot conduct business.
This absolutely needs to happen with the City of London and all its shell corps. The dark underbelly of the City of London and the Shell corps it hides needs to be exposed to the light of day.
I’m not sure all this hate on rich Russians is justified. Sure there will be ones who are in the pockets of Moscow (or the other way around) but I’m sure there are many who hate what Putin is doing. I know a few Russians and they vehemently disagree with what is happening, there are loads of protests in Russia etc.
