    >”I made enough money that I didn’t have to work,” he says. “I made enough money and I’m kind of frugal … I bought the house in cash. I bought the cars in cash. I bought everything straight up because as an artist, I never knew if [I was] going to make any more bread. And I said to my wife, ‘How much money do I need to sock in the bank so that we can live off the interest and so that I don’t have to work?’ She said, ‘We hit it.’ That was like, ‘Okay, Dan, now you’re going to put your money where your mouth is’ … ‘What am I going to do with it? Am I going to keep chasing another part or that?’ ” Instead, he decided to go the path of wholly pursuing his passion projects — and hasn’t looked back since.

  12. Actually happy for this rich man. He ain’t living in excess. He got enough money to live the Dream and he is. Good on him always been a fan of his work. I’ve seen some of his sculptures. Truly beautiful.

  17. How sweet… I remember volunteering at a small community youth organization that was proximate to his previous residence. He and his wife’s names were on the wall because they were benefactors. They seemed like generous people.

  18. This here lets me know that he made a good fortune in his career.. Good for him by staying true to himself and enjoying his own wave.

  19. I too would like to step away and live my real life on my ranch but unfortunately I don’t have a ranch.

If he does good on him and I don’t blame him, since there is no need to work and he should live his best life, but if he does not get anything back, then wow I’m impressed and I think he is brave and leads a good example, that you should follow what makes you happy.

  37. Watched Home Alone last night, and I forgot how darn good Stern and Pesci were. I don’t think the film would have worked without their performances. Had me laughing throughout.
