Brought this up to my boomer parents when they were praising Musk. My dad instantly got hostile how none of it was actually about child cancer research and how the government should cut more.

I live in California. Trump has repeatedly threatened to punish our state because we didn’t bow down to him and it hurt his feelings. Musk is also pissed at California, so we’re expecting childish shenanigans from both of these clowns.
There is a single issue bill that fully funds that exact research. It was passed by the republicans house and Schumer lets it sit, dying in the democratic congress. You’re taking the talking point of “killing cancer research for kids” and omitting the other 1,500 pages that had absolutely nothing to do with a continuing resolution. Just admit you prefer to have giant, over-complicated multi-issue bills that give a 40% raise to Congress pass w/o anyone getting a chance to read the entire thing as long as you can spin it in your mind that Trump and Elon are evil
