SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The final days of Christmas shopping have been giving downtown Sioux Falls businesses hope that more customers will come through the door.
Some stores said sales have been a little slow recently, but they’ve been picking back up over the last few days as the shopping season comes to a close.
Another contributor to the increase has been themed events happening on Thursdays to create deals and drive in shoppers.
“It’s been pretty good. We’ve done a Thursday Theme Downtown shopping run, and people have been turning out for that. A lot of businesses have great sales going on. You can snap up some really good treasures. Last Thursday, we had buy one stocking, one go-to gift, you get the second one 50 percent off. It’s kind of driven the sales a bit. It’s looking better,” said MK Threads associate Davina Beam.
Some downtown stores have offered the Thursday deals alongside extended hours.
