Portugal’s public broadcaster, RTP, has revealed the Semi-Final allocations for the 14 composers and 6 artists who will participate in the Festival da Canção 2025, the country’s national competition to select a representative for Eurovision 2025.
This year’s Festival da Canção promises a high level of musical creation and the announcement of the semi-finalists marks the official start of the countdown to Portugal’s big music event.
Before we present the two semi-finals, let us remind you that, according to the rules of the Festival da Canção, composers have the option of performing their songs themselves, or choosing another artist to perform their compositions. This practice ensures that the creators maintain artistic control and ensures that their work is given the desired place.

First Semi-Final – February 22, 2025
The ten artists and composers who will compete in the first semi-final include names that have left their mark on the Portuguese music scene, as well as new voices that are expected to surprise the audience.
