New York City has so many homeless people that it is replacing benches in subway stations with “leaning boards.” But Wall Street is worth tens of trillions of dollars.

  1. Every country and every transit agency does this. Transit needs to be safe and comfortable, allowing homeless or anyone really to loiter results in people wanting to move away from public transit.

  2. Honestly this is popular amongst most Americans. Homeless people who lurk in the subway are generally dangerous, high, crazy, or a combination of the 3. It’s a crime that we let them overtake public spaces.

  3. The first time you see a homeless guy get up and leave a puddle of piss behind him as he walks out of a train you realize that not everything needs to be a homeless shelter.

It’s either these half assed solution or we need to get much tougher on the homeless to get them back in line and stop pissing and shitting everywhere.

  4. I agree that the public needs to feel safe and comfortable in public places. But I also believe people need a safe place to exist when they are homeless. If all jobs paid a living wage, homes were affordable, and healthcare was accessible to everyone then this wouldn’t be such an issue. But we all know that’s not the case, so places with a homeless problem need a public place with restrooms that is legal for homeless people to exist.

  5. What about benches with anti sleeping mechanisms. I’ve seen them in parks, work well
